


Warrior DETAILS
This is the fourth annual Warrior Way Exposure weekend, hosted on the Merrimack College campus at J. Thom Lawler Arena. The weekend is open to all interested participants and will be led by coaches Dan Jewell, Tanner Sorenson, Jimmy Mullin, and other coaches from the schools listed above.
This development weekend offers a valuable opportunity for players to enhance their skills and deepen their understanding of the game under the guidance of our experienced staff. We are seeking individuals who not only demonstrate strong playing ability but also exhibit a genuine motivation and commitment to learning, growth, and improvement.

Dan Jewell is finishing up his sixth season with the Merrimack College men's ice hockey coaching staff. Jewell carried an extensive coaching background with him to Lawler Rink, most recently serving as the Assistant Coach / Recruiting Coordinator / Goaltending Coach at RPI from 2017-19. Prior to that, Jewell enjoyed stints with the Bloomington Thunder of the USHL (2014-17), Hamilton College (2012-14) and SUNY Plattsburgh (2011-12).

Tanner joins the Merrimack College Coaching staff in 2024-25. Prior to that, over the last decade Tanner had been coaching at the Kalamazoo Optimist Hockey Association (KOHA) in Kalamazoo, MI as a skills coach for all ages and this past season was the U16 head coach. Tanner played high school at Shattuck-St. Mary's where he was part of the U18 National Championship team. He represented Team USA at the Ivan Hlinka Tournament in 2011, earning a silver medal. He played four years at Michigan State University (15’), where he was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection and was Most Improved Player in his sophomore season. From 2015-2024, Tanner enjoyed a professional career, playing over 450 games in the ECHL, AHL, and internationally in Kazakhstan, Switzerland, and England.

Jimmy Mullin spent his first season as an Assistant Coach for Merrimack College during the 2023-2024 season. Prior to that he spent the last two seasons as an assistant with the U.S. National Development Team, as a member of the staff for the 2022 U-18 World Championships that captured the silver medal. Mullin played five years of college hockey, four at Miami (OH) University and one year at Minnesota State. He was also selected in the fourth round of the 2010 NHL Draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning, Mullin then played three seasons in the ECHL, all with the Kalamazoo Wings.
